Members of Parliament ask for more World Bank transparency

Last week the World Bank Global Conference took place in Washtington D.C. Before this conference Dutch members of parliament asked for more financial transparency of the World Bank. Research by Hivos, Cordaid and Open State Foundation shows that the World Bank spends millions of dollars without disclosing who the recipient is and for which purpose the money is spent. The Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Aid Kaag promised to raise the issue with the World bank and to provide more information on the Dutch contribution to the World Bank.
