Politwoops, an archive of public tweets, deleted by politicians has been launched in several additional countries in Latin America. From today, deleted tweets by politicians in El Salvador<\/a>, Puerto Rico<\/a>, Ecuador<\/a> and Peru<\/a> will be recorded, stored and published via the tool developed by Open State Foundation<\/a>. Politwoops was already running in Argentina<\/a> and Chile<\/a>. In addition to these countries, Politwoops is also launched this week in Israel<\/a>, Iran<\/a>, Pakistan<\/a>, Oman<\/a>, Moldava<\/a> and Poland<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n Politwoops<\/a>, a tool developed by Open State Foundation, records, stores and publishes Twitter postings erased by election candidates and politicians. It also tracks the time between when they were posted and when they were deleted. Politwoops<\/a> has proven to be an incredibly useful tool for journalists and citizens holding politicians to account, especially during elections.<\/p>\n Since 2010, starting with the Dutch parliament<\/a>, Open State Foundation has expanded the tool to include politicians and public officials in more than 30 countries<\/a>, including the United Kingdom<\/a>, France<\/a>, Turkey<\/a> and Tunisia<\/a>.
