Applications on the basis of educational data can significantly increase the ease of having to choose a particular school or education. Moreover, such data improves the quality of education by involving many different parties and benchmarking the data.

The Open Education Data network consists of different levels of government, educational institutions, students and programmers who want to make a difference with Open Education Data. Their current partner is the Dienst Maatschappelijke Ontwikkeling from the Amsterdam municipality.
