During the Masterclass professionals from museums, libraries and archives work on releasing their first collection as open culture data. With different sessions cultural institutitions learn everything about open data, licenses, copyright, technique and internal policy. After the masterclass, we assist the institutions in releasing their first dataset as open data. This first dataset makes sure that institutions can experiment with open data and can adjust their internal policy to releasing their collection. After this first dataset many others usually follow. All datasets can be found here and almost 2 million object can be found with the search engine.

In 2015 the Open State Foundation and Kennisland organised the Open Culture Data Masterclass for culture institutions in the province of North-Holland. The province asked for a Masterclass because a survey found out that institutions where in need of information about open culture data.
