Open State Foundation is working together with the ministry of Interior Affairs, Association of Netherlands Municipalities and Civity to collect al locations of polling stations for the upcoming municipal elections and referendum of the 21st of March. Municipalities can now upload their list of polling stations via the platform ‘Where is my polling station?’. The goal is to have a complete list of all the polling stations in 380 municipalities to help voters find their nearest polling stations.
Municipalities can now upload their data via the Association of Netherlands Municipalities specifications for polling stations. Due to standardization we can make one complete, comparable and accurate list of all polling stations in the Netherlands. Last year Open State Foundation collected and standardized this list of stations manually. The polling stations will be made available as open data, visualized in a map viewer and will be connected to Facebook on the day of the election for maximum exposure.
